WHY ARE THE CLASSES THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS?

  • Tuesday: students are introduced to a new art technique, artist and art movement through games, technique warmups, discussion follow ups and practice. The project will be introduced to the class too and possibly started. They might watch me do a step by step demonstration with the art materials in real time or I will go over a piece I’ve already created and point out the steps it took to create the final piece.

  • Wednesday: Students will apply what they learned on Tuesday and begin their project.

  • Thursday: is for students to complete the project and put their final touches on their art. Students will present and share their project with the class and then take their project home.

Classes are also three consecutive days...

  • so students can take a break and step away from their project.

  • so students can have a high level of energy and focus while they are in class.

  • because typically there is a moment or two during the project when things aren’t working as planned and students need time to reflect on how to solve and overcome that issue.

  • because meeting on a weekly schedule will create too much time between working on projects and students will lose momentum and interest.

  • to cut down on the volume of projects coming home students will complete one project a month.

WHY DO ALL THE CLASSES HAVE THE SAME ELEMENT OF ART EACH MONTH?

  • The classes have the same element of art (line, color, shape, texture, value, texture and space) each month so the studio displays and resources can be shown and shared and accessible all month long for all the students

  • Some of the classes will have similar projects but the goal is to create projects for the groups age level, the older the age of students the more responsibility and independence when they work on projects

  • The elements of art are important because they help students create unique, one of a kind pieces. When a student selects their subject matter and alters their project by changing line, color, shape, texture, value, or space they will create a completely original piece of art.

WHY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR A WHOLE TERM AND NOT JUST TAKE A CLASS?

  • When students commit to a term it allows the studio to purchase the materials needed for the class in plenty of time, it allows the studio to get the materials in bulk and keeps shipping costs minimal to none based on the volume ordered

  • When students have registered for the term it guarantees their placement in the class and gives them the opportunity to register for the next term before it opens for new students.

  • Single classes are only available after registration is complete; if there are open seats left then students will be able to attend the class

  • If you know it doesn’t work with your schedule to attend all the classes offered for a fall term let the studio know before or at the registration time and we will put your name on a waiting list. The studio will contact you the days following registration and you can attend the classes that work with your schedule; single class for $30, two classes for $60 or three classes for $90

  • If you decide to sign up for aclass(es) weeks or months after registration has closed that weekly class fee will be $60 The extra expense for late registration reflects the cost of materials (not at bulk pricing), increased shipping costs (because purchase to not meet free shipping prices) or if it is necessary for a studio member to travel and pick up the materials which might incur additional expenses

WHY DOES THE FALL TERM COST $120?

When we researched extra curricular or enrichment programs in the vicinity most of the programs were in the $10 a lesson range and that does not include books, atheltic equipment, dance apparel and so on. If you break down the fall term students and adults attending are paying $10/class, and we meet 12 times. Paying for the term means a commitment on the students part and allows the studio to be prepared for the whole term; ordering materials, preparing materials for students use, having enough examples or stations ready all while keeping costs down. If a student can't attend all four months of classes due to scheduling conflicts please let us know and we will add you to the months you can attend after registration has closed on August 21 for $30/each month you can attend.
